The Forks City Council is focusing on three initiative drives in 2010, which are:

• Support of the Forks Beautification Committee. Council Members Mike Breidenbach and Bruce Guckenberg are assisting Marsha Yanish, Bill Sperry and the rest of the beautification committee in their efforts to make Forks “sparkle” for our Twilight visitors as well as our residents.
• Forks City Open House Initiative. Council Members Kevin Hinchen and Gus Wallerstedt are coordinating with city staff to have an open house at City Hall for community members to come and learn more about the city staff and the inner-workings of Forks government. Stay posted for this upcoming event!
• Emergency Preparedness Initiative. Council Member Hillcar and Mayor Monohon are revisiting emergency preparedness issues within the city and the community. So far over 3,400 copies of the State of Washington’s Emergency Preparedness Manual have been distributed in Western Clallam County in both English and Spanish. The City’s Emergency Management Plan is also being reexamined.
